The LaCour Cuvee is a proprietary blend in the great traditions of Bordeaux and Napa Valley. It has been a long-term dream of ours to produce a wine that has the quality of the Reserve at the same time be of a more subtle, supple style. Also offered only in very limited quantities, the LaCour will be eventually only available to Club Members. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for LaCour come from our prized block with perfect exposure at highest elevation of the estate. The Cabernet Franc and Malbec originate at a priced block at Vineyard 29. The wine is barreled for over 20 months in 100% new French oak.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon LaCour is a pliant and racy to the core, the 2019 is a total charmer. Silky tannins wrap around a core of inky red cherry/plum fruit, cinnamon and flowers. LaCour offers gorgeous depth, freshness and energy, all accented by a healthy dollop of Cabernet Franc. Drinking window 2024-2023. 94 points

Ava Grace is designed to be slightly less intense than the Reserve. It could be enjoyed immediately upon release or aged for many years and only improve. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon fruit from multiple blocks Ava Grace is 80%+ Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot making up the remainder, in most vintages. It is aged in 60% new French oak (and once-used Reserve barrels) for over 20 months.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Ava Grace is a superb entry-level wine from Knighton. It offers up an exciting mélange of blackberry jam, graphite, crushed rocks, lavender and spice. This potent Cabernet packs a serious punch, give it a year or two to soften. Drinking window 2024-2034. 93 points

The Reserve is our flagship wine. Always in very limited quantities and produced from just a few rows of our most direct southwest exposed block, the Reserve is almost all Cabernet Sauvignon (clone 4). Some vintages have added a minute amount of Petit Verdot – and are barreled in 100% new French oak (Taransaud) for 20+ months. Due to its intensity, we delay the release of the Reserve until it becomes a bit more approachable, even with a healthy decant!

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is dark, plush and inviting. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, spice, menthol and licorice are all kicked up in this juicy, exuberant Cabernet from Jim and Ann Knighton. The 2019 delivers the goods, big time.
